Project Overview
Dura engaged IceBubble to design and build a complete athlete monitoring platform: a fast, cross-platform iOS and Android app for players to record daily metrics, and a secure web portal for staff to manage data, spot trends and act quickly.
Beyond delivery, we contributed product thinking – clarifying the data model, surfacing the right KPIs, and shaping how insights are presented so coaches get signal, not noise. The result covers the full journey from capture to analysis to clear, actionable views of load, wellness and availability.
Challenge
Big squads and bigger spreadsheets were slowing decisions. Data entry was inconsistent, insights arrived after the moment had passed, and there was no single source of truth that coaches, medical and performance staff could all trust. Any solution had to be:
- Effortless for players to complete every day, even offline
- Robust at scale with high data volume and variable compliance
- Secure and auditable, with role-based access that reflects real-world responsibilities
- Flexible enough to adapt to different sports, workflows and terminology without constant rework
Solution
We delivered a two-part system engineered for compliance and clarity.
Player app (.NET MAUI): quick daily workflows, configurable questionnaires, session RPE and wellbeing inputs, micro-interactions that reduce friction, offline capture with background sync, and gentle reminders to keep completion rates high.
Staff portal (.NET MVC): player profiles, configurable forms and thresholds, automated alerts, trend dashboards for acute/chronic load, wellness and availability, and tools to slice data by squad, position, timeframe or custom tags.
Platform fundamentals: role-based access control, audit trails, export tooling, API endpoints for future integrations, and GDPR-aligned data handling. We also worked with Dura on product decisions – researching domain practices, pressure-testing edge cases, and proposing design patterns that make complex data legible at a glance.
Result
Teams move faster with better information and less admin. Daily completion improves, outliers are flagged early, and staff get a consistent, trustworthy view of each player and the squad as a whole.
Coaches act sooner, medical staff coordinate interventions with context, and leadership benefits from clear reporting across sessions and match cycles.
The platform scales cleanly as squads grow, while the flexible configuration keeps it aligned to each organisation’s language and workflow.
