Mobile App Development
for Oxspring Network Solutions

Oxspring are a UK-based Cisco Premier Partner with over 22 years experience delivering solutions based on Cisco networking technologies

The IceBubble team were approached to help develop a mobile app to assist a customer of Oxspring.

The Challenge

Oxspring approached IceBubble needing a business solution for their client as their current solutions used a hardware that was no longer being produced.

Oxspring found a new hardware product (Zebra TC51 Android barcode scanner) that fulfilled this need; however, they needed a new software solution that could be both easy to use and also interact with their current solution.

The Solution

IceBubble took a fantastic specification from Oxspring, and created a bespoke Android application using Xamarin Forms.

The app was able to scan multiple barcodes, count and group the data with each scan, and when complete deliver a CSV file in the required format to continue in the existing platform in use.

The Result

As a result of our successful build, Oxspring were able to delight their customer and solve a very immediate problem for them.

Business for the customer of Oxspring was able to continue as normal while a new warehouse management solution was implemented.

Oxpring Network solutions have developed a great partnership with IceBubble delivering two Android app projects for our client and their Zebra TC51 handheld scanners. IceBubble understood the specification, delivered on time and were able to add personalisation for our client without complicating the app. I’m happy to recommend IceBubble, and look forward to working with them in the future.

Technology in use for this solution

Microsoft Xamarin
Simple cross platform development. Using Xamarin, we can develop one business logic code and then use this to create iOS, Android, Mac and Windows (UWP) applications. This approach saves considerable time, and also reduces the issues that arise from running multiple different native apps.
